A man covers a certain distance from point P to Q on foot and comes back from point Q to P by taxi. He takes 16 hours to complete the whole journey. But when he covers this whole journey only by taxi, he takes 4 hours less. What time will the man take, if he covers this journey only on foot ?

Answer : Option C

Explanation :

Time taken by foot and by taxi = 16 hours Time taken by taxi only = (16 – 4) = 12 hours Time taken by taxi during one side
= $12over2$ = 6 hours
So, time taken on foot during one side
= (16 – 6) = 10 hours
So, time taken on foot during both side
= 10 × 2 = 20 hours
