Murthy drove from town A to town B. In the first hour, he travelled ${\frac 14}$ of the journey. In the next one hour, he travelled ${\frac 12}$ of the journey. In the last 30 minutes, he travelled 80 km. Find the distance of the whole journey.

Explanation :

Let total Journey = xkm.
Ist hour, he travelled = ${\frac x4}$ km.
Next hour, he travelled = ${\frac x2}$km.
Total distance travelled = $\left(\frac{ x}{4 }+\frac{ x}{2}\right)$Km
=$\frac{ 3x}{4 }$Km
Remaining distance = $\left(\frac{ 3x}{4 }\right)$Km
=$\frac{x}{4}$Km It is given that, last last 30 min, he travelled = 80 km
==> $\frac{x}{4}$= 80
X= 320 km.
